VISA-SVIT provides document preparation and application support for eligible foreign candidates planning legal employment in Hungary. We help review the employer file, candidate documents and the applicable immigration route before submission.
Who can apply
The Hungarian residence permit for the purpose of seasonal employment is intended for eligible third-country nationals who will perform legally defined seasonal work.
Under the current rules, seasonal employment is limited to positions in plant production, forest management, animal breeding and fishery.
The permit may be issued for a maximum total period of 6 months within a 12-month period, subject to the applicant, employer, job position and supporting documents meeting the requirements of the Hungarian immigration authority.
Employment and residence rules for third-country nationals changed in 2026, so eligibility for other Hungary work and residence routes must be checked separately before the application is prepared.
Preliminary agreement for establishing an employment relationship.
Documents confirming the employer, job position, employment conditions and the purpose of residence, depending on the specific application route.
Proof of accommodation or other acceptable documentation confirming the applicant's place of residence in Hungary, according to the applicable procedure.
Employer registration and company information required for the selected employment and residence procedure.
The exact employer document package depends on the permit category, employer, position and current requirements of the Hungarian authorities.
The applicant may need a valid passport, photographs, proof of accommodation, documents confirming the purpose of residence, sufficient financial resources, healthcare coverage and other supporting documents required for the selected permit category.
The exact checklist must be confirmed before submission because requirements may differ depending on nationality, country of submission, employer and residence permit category.
Eligibility check → employer and candidate document preparation → application submission through the competent Hungarian authority or foreign mission → immigration review → decision → entry and employment in accordance with the approved permit.
For applicants who are not entitled to visa-free entry, an application submitted abroad for the relevant residence permit also includes the application for the visa required to collect the approved residence permit. A separate visa application may therefore not be required for this route.
Hungarian immigration rules depend on the exact residence purpose and permit category. Approval is decided exclusively by the competent Hungarian authorities. Incorrect, inconsistent or expired documents may lead to additional requests, delays or refusal. VISA-SVIT helps prepare and review the document package before submission.
Embassy / Consular submission
The competent Hungarian foreign mission or application receiving location depends on the applicant's nationality and habitual place of residence. The exact submission location should be confirmed before filing.

Buying a ready-made company or registering a new one can support residence planning, but it is not an automatic guarantee of a residence permit or citizenship.
Registration is typically done via Hungarian lawyers. Founders provide company name, legal address and shareholder details.
If a job has already been found, the employer prepares an official notice for the consulate.
Since 2014, the process has been simplified: the residence permit request is often submitted together with the work authorization — one combined procedure.
The permit is issued for the duration of the employment contract and can be extended if conditions remain unchanged. Renewal is typically filed before expiration (practically, submit early to avoid gaps).
If you change the employer or role, the permit may need re-issuance depending on the program rules.
A residence permit — and, under separate legal conditions, citizenship — can open opportunities for work, business and education in Europe.
Important: benefits depend on your exact status (visa, permit, citizenship). VISA-SVIT helps prepare compliant documents and reduce refusal risks.
Main documents: work permit (program-dependent) and national visa category D.
Also required:
Language requirements depend on the vacancy. English/German is a strong advantage. Authorities may check compliance, health and visa history. Applicant must have housing and funds for the initial period.
To get a positive decision (work permit → visa → residence permit), it is important to follow the procedure and legal requirements. Mistakes at any stage may lead to refusal or delays.
VISA-SVIT helps prepare and verify documents, organize translations, reduce risk factors, and guide the client to a predictable result.
