      Bulgaria - Schengen Country

      Bulgaria is part of the Schengen Area — a powerful advantage for travel, work and legal mobility in Europe. For Ukrainians and non-EU applicants, Bulgaria is a practical gateway to the EU with clear rules and strong opportunities.
      Why Bulgaria
      • EU member state in Southeast Europe, close to major transport routes
      • Convenient starting point for multi-country Schengen travel
      • Competitive costs for accommodation, food and everyday life
      Located in Southeast Europe, Bulgaria is an EU member state with a growing economy and a strategic position between Europe and the Black Sea region. With Schengen status, visa holders can plan multi-country routes and travel efficiently across Europe.
      Bulgaria is attractive for tourism, seasonal work, business trips, and long-term residence planning thanks to affordable living costs, developed infrastructure, and a steadily expanding labour market.

      Documents & checklist | How we prepare your case
      A strong Schengen application is not about “more papers” — it’s about clear logic, consistent purpose, and clean supporting evidence. Below is a practical checklist and our preparation workflow.
      Core documents (must-have)
      • Passport (valid, with free pages) + copies of key pages
      • Ukraine residence permit card + copies (proof of legal stay)
      • Photos (standard format)
      • Contact details + address (actual, verifiable)
      • Proof of funds (bank statement / balance / income source)
      • Travel purpose evidence (depending on your case): hotel/route, invitation, event ticket, business meeting confirmation, etc.
      Most common mistakes (we prevent them)
      • Conflicting travel purpose (text says one thing, documents show another)
      • Weak financial logic (no clear source of funds or inconsistent balances)
      • Incomplete copies / missing pages / outdated data
      • “Random” bookings without a realistic route plan
      • Unclear ties / poor explanation of return plan (when required by case)
      What VISA-SVIT does for you
      • Case strategy: purpose + route + supporting evidence map
      • Document audit: we check the logic, completeness, and formatting
      • Application form support: correct data input & consistency control
      • Step-by-step instructions: what to prepare, how to present, what to avoid
      • Support until result (consultations and clarifications)
      Quick pre-check (before you contact us)
      1) Your Ukraine residence permit is valid and readable (front/back copies).
      2) Your travel purpose is clear in one sentence.
      3) You can show the source of funds (salary/business/other).
      4) Your route is realistic and consistent with the purpose.
      5) You are ready to follow a clean document structure (we provide it).

      ✓ Documents for a Bulgaria Schengen visa

      To prepare a strong, consistent application for a Bulgaria Schengen visa, the following documents are typically required:

      • International passport — validity should extend at least 180 days after submission. Prepare copies of all pages; one page should be blank.
      • National passport with copies of all pages (if available).
      • 2 color photos in the required format.
      • Financial proof — employment income letter for the last 6 months and/or bank/card statements (recommended).
      • Completed application form (in English or Bulgarian).
      • Receipts confirming payment of visa/consular fees.
      ✓ VISA-SVIT tip
      All documents must be consistent (dates, route, bookings, finances, travel purpose). This is a key factor in visa decisions.
      ✓ Who can apply “with guarantee”

      A “guarantee” option is available only for foreign nationals who have a valid residence permit in Ukraine.

      • Proof of work (last 6 months) / study, or a bank certificate (minimum €700 balance).
      • For students, application is possible from the 2nd year of studies.
      ✓ Not processed
      • Applicants with previous Schengen refusals;
      • Applicants from “high-risk” countries: Iran, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, Syria (case-by-case).
      ✓ Complex history? Start with a consultation and eligibility check.
      ✓ Long-term “guarantee” visas
      • 1 year: only if you have used Schengen visas within the last 3 years;
      • 6 months: may be possible with a “clean” passport (no prior Schengen).
      ✓ Submission conditions
      • Personal submission and biometrics (fingerprints);
      • Passport collection without personal presence (delivery may be possible at recipient’s cost).
      ✓ Validity & passport requirements
      • With a “clean” passport, the “guarantee” option is typically limited to 7–14 days;
      • 1-year visa — only with used Schengen visas within the last 3 years.
      ✓ Payment terms
      • 50% — guarantee deposit (refunded in case of refusal; not refunded if the applicant does not appear for submission);
      • Remaining amount — after receiving the passport with the visa.
      For details please see Payment.

      If a visa is issued for a shorter period, a recalculation is made and the overpayment is refunded. After approval, it is recommended to use the Hungary visa within 3 months. Extension is possible only if there are strong legal grounds.

      Key requirements: strong reasons to return (property / employment / minor children), sufficient funds, no criminal record, and a transparent travel purpose.

      Common refusal reasons include hiding the real purpose of travel, providing false/outdated data, or previous violations in Schengen countries. A positive visa history is a strong advantage.

      A: Yes — legal residence in Ukraine (temporary/permanent permit) is a key requirement for this route.

      Q: Can I apply with weak documents?
      A: We do not submit “raw” cases. We first build a consistent logic and checklist, then proceed.
