Work route to Albania through an employer
Albania can be a practical destination for foreign candidates who are ready for warehouse, logistics, production, construction, hospitality or other available positions and want to apply on the basis of employer documents.
The process may include preparation of employment documents, submission of an application for an Electronic Visa Type D where required, legal entry into Albania and a subsequent application for a Unique Permit / Leje Unike, depending on the candidate’s citizenship, employment basis and current Albanian rules.

The application is based on the employer’s employment and registration documents, the candidate’s personal documents and the applicable Albanian visa, work and residence procedure.

Electronic Visa Type D: online application process
The Albanian visa application procedure can be completed through the official electronic system where applicable. The candidate submits the required information and documents online and follows the instructions provided within the application process.
1. Online registration
The application is registered through Albania’s official electronic visa system where the selected visa route is available.
2. Documents online
The required candidate and employer documents are uploaded according to the requirements of the individual application.
3. Application review
The application is reviewed by the competent Albanian authorities. Additional documents or information may be requested.
4. Electronic decision
After approval, the visa or relevant electronic confirmation is provided according to the procedure applicable to the candidate’s case.
Online procedure for eligible applications
For eligible cases, the main visa application stages are completed through Albania’s electronic system. The competent authority may still request additional steps, documents or personal attendance where required.
Visa D and TRC / Unique Permit — two different stages
Visa Type D is not the same as a TRC / residence permit. Entry authorization and residence/work authorization are separate legal stages and may involve different procedures and authorities.

Visa Type D / Electronic Visa
Purpose: completion of the required visa or entry stage for employment in Albania where applicable.
Procedure: eligible applications may be submitted and processed through Albania’s electronic visa system.

Unique Permit / Leje Unike
Purpose: the relevant residence and work authorization procedure for eligible foreign workers.

In simple terms: the visa / entry stage and the Unique Permit / residence-and-work stage are separate procedures. Eligibility and sequence depend on the candidate’s nationality and legal basis.
