A short-stay Schengen Type C visa is intended for temporary travel within the Schengen Area. For foreign nationals legally residing in Ukraine, eligibility to apply depends on citizenship, legal status, purpose of travel and the competence of the relevant consular authority.
Schengen Area and the 90/180-day rule
The Schengen Area consists of 29 countries applying common rules for short-stay Schengen visas. A Schengen visa generally permits short-term travel within the Schengen Area in accordance with the conditions shown on the visa sticker.
The general short-stay limit is up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The actual authorised stay and number of entries are determined by the visa issued.

When applying for a Schengen Type C visa, it is important not only to collect documents, but to prepare a logical, consistent and clearly structured application package. Passport
The passport must remain valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of departure from the Schengen Area. For a specific application, the date of issue, condition of the document and availability of pages for visa stamps are also checked.
Travel medical insurance
The insurance policy must be valid throughout the Schengen Area and cover emergency medical treatment, hospitalisation and repatriation. The minimum insurance coverage is 30,000 EUR.
