The country-continent attracts with exoticism, an impressive list of sightseeing attractions, unusual phenomena “on the contrary” (winter in summer, the Southern Cross instead of the Big Dipper, etc.). The mainland and the islands are dominated by an amazing conglomerate of aboriginal life and super modern civilization in big cities.

The immigration laws of Australia and Oceania oblige Ukrainians, citizens of the countries of the former CIS, to issue visa entry permits. You can do this on your own or with the help of agencies.

Visa process

Australian visa for citizens of Ukraine exists today only in electronic form. The sticker is not pasted into the passport, documents are submitted online. Procedure for applicants:

• collection of documents;
• translation of the package into English by an accredited translator;
• payment of the visa fee;
• online submission of documents;
• obtaining an e-visa.

Firms that offer assistance in processing assess the applicant's chances, provide consultations, provide translation services, instruct on the rules for using an electronic entry permit, and, if necessary, book flights and a hotel.

The set of documents depends on the permission category. The list includes scans of valid and other foreign passports, 2 photographs, application form, income statement, bank statement, medical insurance contract. Types of visas to Australia and Oceania

Visitor visa

Applicants who wish to spend a trip in an educational and entertaining format, visit relatives, hold a short business meeting, apply for a visitor visa. The permit is subclass 600. The visa does not give you the right to work. The validity period is up to one year.

Relatives who send an invitation must have the status of a citizen or resident of Australia and Oceania. The sponsor or applicant must have funds for accommodation and return travel.

Subclass 600 also includes a business visa, which is issued for a business trip. Among the documents should be an invitation from the organizers of the exhibition, conference or other business event.

Transit visa

If Australia is a transit point for travel to another country, a transit visa (subclass 771) is issued. A temporary visa entitles you to:

• stay in the country for 72 hours during each visit;
• cross the border of Australia from outside to inside any number of times;
• legally stay on the territory of the state during the period of forced waiting for the further part of the trip.

Citizens who intend to stay at an Australian airport for no more than 8 hours do not need a transit visa.

Temporary work visa

This type of visa (subclass 400) is intended for those who are going to Australia for short-term work, performance of a special labor task, participation in sports and cultural events. Opens for up to three months. In some cases, if justification is provided, the period may be extended up to 6 months.

Applicants must confirm the skills, professionalism to perform the declared activity, provide an invitation from an Australian organization. The visa is not intended for an internship, participation in public concerts as an actor or accompanying person. There are other subclasses of entry permits for such applicants.

Terms of registration

The following terms of consideration of visas are determined:

• tourist - up to 35 days;
• transit, sailor's visa - up to 5 days;
• working - up to 20 days;
• business and guest - up to one month.

The consulate may extend the processing time without giving reasons. The validity of visas depends on the type, ranging from three months to a year, the decision is made by the immigration officer. When submitting documents, it is impossible to request permission for the desired period.
